Our History

Everything started in 1960, when Aldo Carozzi began to sell traditional products of Valsassina. First in Ballabio and then in Pasturo, Carozzi Formaggi began to manage the production and the aging of cheese. The company grew over the years and began to get known abroad too.

Since then we have been combining the ancient skills of our cheesemakers with modern tastes and trends. The result of our work is our wide range of unique cheese, that over the years received prestigious awards.The Formaggeria was born in 2015: it is a space dedicated to the culinary delights of Valsassina: you can taste and buy products and take parte at our events.

Our Gorgonzola DOP (Protected Designation of Origin) Selezione Dolce and Capriziola were both awarded with a gold medal at the thirtieth edition of the World Cheese Awards.
